Erasing the Minister of Labors Remark from the Session Minutes After His Misconduct Towards Deputy Tahboub

Khaberni - The talk of the Minister of Labor, Khaled Al-Bakkar, and his criticism of Deputy Dima Tahboub's question, which was turned into an inquiry, caused widespread dissatisfaction under the parliament dome, nearly causing a disturbance in the session.

Al-Bakkar, criticizing Tahboub’s remarks, said that she was levelling accusations and treating the Ministry of Labor as if it were on "another planet," considering that she should have been more informed about the subject of the question.

Tahboub angrily interrupted the Minister of Labor, indicating a violation of the internal regulations, after the minister was given the opportunity to speak following the conversion of her question about decent work conditions into a government inquiry.

The Speaker of the House, Mazen Al-Qadi, requested to cut off the minister's speech and move to the next item on the agenda amidst increasing objections from several deputies who considered the minister’s statements offensive towards Deputy Tahboub.

Several deputies succeeded in persuading Tahboub not to leave the session.

In his turn, Deputy Suleiman Al-Zebn stated that the minister should apologize for the "harsh speech" he made, noting that it was not befitting of a minister and demanded the erasure of the minister's speech from the session record, pointing out that the minister "thinks he is still a deputy."

The Speaker, Mazen Al-Qadi, voted on erasing the minister’s speech, which was unanimously approved by the attending deputies.
