New CES 2026 Smart Wooden Blinds That Track Sun Movement

Khaberni - In the bustling arena of advanced technologies and complex robots that abound at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, Lutron opted to draw attention with a quiet yet practical innovation by unveiling the Caséta smart wood blinds equipped with sun-tracking technology as part of its smart home system.

The new blinds are made from natural basswood and target users who prefer "do-it-yourself" solutions, as they can be installed easily and without any wiring.

The key feature relies on Natural Light Optimization (NLO) technology, which enables the blinds to automatically adjust themselves based on the sun's position to reduce glare and regulate room temperature throughout the day, according to a report published by "androidheadlines".

Smart tracking for natural light
Unlike traditional open-and-close systems based on timing, NLO technology uses the home's geographical location and the direction of the windows to precisely determine the angle of the sun.

As a result, the blinds can take advantage of natural morning light, then adjust the angle of the slats later to reduce light reflection on TV screens or to minimize heat during the midday period.

Classic design with a smart touch
Despite relying on smart technologies, Lutron has maintained a traditional elegant design.

The blinds are made from natural wood and are available in white and walnut colors, making them a suitable choice for those who wish to integrate automation with the visual warmth of real wood.

Despite being fully motorized, the company has added the option of manual control through the bottom rail, so that the blinds can be raised or lowered manually when needed, without constant reliance on a phone or remote control.

Easy installation and wide integration
Lutron targets users who prefer to install the devices themselves, as the blinds require no electrical connections, and installation is simply done with a few screws and quick setup via the app.

They also support integration with popular voice control systems, such as Amazon Alexa, Apple Home, and Google Home, to work in harmony with smart lighting and other home devices.

Price and availability
Lutron has set a fixed price of $429 for standard-sized windows, a positive step compared to the variable pricing common in home fittings. Larger windows require customized pricing.

The Caséta smart wood blinds are scheduled to be available in the American market starting January 4th, offering a new option for homes looking to enhance their smart home system with seamless technologies that operate automatically without continuous user intervention.
