Saudi Foreign Minister Discusses Various Topics Including the War on Gaza with Sisi

Khaberni - Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan arrived on Sunday evening to the Egyptian capital Cairo for a short official visit.

It is scheduled that Prince Faisal will meet with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on Monday, before holding an official discussion session with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdel Aty.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in an official release that "the visit aims to discuss bilateral relations, exchange views on regional and international developments."

The visit comes at a sensitive time during which major regional files are experiencing tensions, most notably the establishment of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the implementation of subsequent phases of agreements related to the transitional phase, and supporting Egyptian efforts to form a temporary Palestinian technocratic committee to manage daily affairs in Gaza, paving the way for the return of the Palestinian Authority.

The period also witnesses ongoing preparations for the first meeting of the Egyptian-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council, chaired by President Sisi and the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
