Diaz Makes History with Morocco in the Africa Cup of Nations

Khaberni - Ibrahim Diaz, a player for Real Madrid, became the first player in history to score in 4 consecutive matches in the Africa Cup of Nations currently hosted by his country, after scoring the only winning goal against Tanzania in the round of 16 on Sunday.

Diaz opened the scoring for Morocco in the 64th minute in the match which took place at the "Prince Moulay Abdallah" stadium in the capital, Rabat, making him the first Moroccan player to net goals in 4 consecutive Africa Cup of Nations matches throughout the "Atlas Lions" participation in the tournament's history.

The Real Madrid star managed to score in the group stage matches against Comoros, Mali, and Zambia in the current edition of the competition, becoming the second Moroccan to score in three consecutive Africa Cup of Nations matches, following Ahmed Faras.

Diaz took the lead in the scoring chart of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 with a total of 4 goals.
