Khaberni - The air, sea, and land transport sectors in the Kingdom have experienced an increase in indicators and significant improvement in the third quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.
Performance indicators of the air transport sector revealed that the total number of airplanes arriving and departing from all the Kingdom's airports reached 22,937 in the third quarter of 2025, a 2 percent increase compared to 22,537 airplanes in the third quarter of 2024.
The total number of passengers arriving and departing from all the Kingdom's airports was 2,946,999 in the third quarter of the last year, marking a 10 percent increase compared to 2,687,635 passengers during the third quarter of 2024.
Data in the maritime transport sector showed that the total cargo handling through all the port facilities in Aqaba reached 7,433,023 tonnes in the third quarter of 2025, an increase of 17 percent compared to 6,355,660 tonnes in the third quarter of 2024.
The total container traffic through the Aqaba container port was 270,286 containers in the third quarter of 2025, an increase of 22 percent compared to 221,675 containers in the third quarter of 2024.
As for the land transport sector, the number of passengers through all the land border crossings was 3,447,692 in the third quarter of the last year, an increase estimated at 21 percent compared to 2,844,117 passengers in the third quarter of 2024.
The total cargo handling was 14,323,533 tonnes in the third quarter of 2025, an increase of 21.7 percent compared to 11,770,749 tonnes in the third quarter of 2024.
