Khaberni - Haq Resources for Solar Energy Company, in partnership with Cairo Amman Bank, the main project financier, announced the commencement of the commercial operation of the Haq Resources Solar Power Plant in Ma'an Governorate, with an operational capacity of50 megawatts and a maximum capacity of 60.50 megawatts, following the completion of all necessary technical tests and receiving the official approval for commercial operation from the National Electricity Company (NEPCO).
This achievement reflects the commitment of both parties to support the journey towards clean energy and enhances the kingdom's capacity in producing electricity from renewable sources, thus bolstering Jordan's position as a regional hub for clean energy and supporting the kingdom's vision to expand sustainable renewable energy projects. The Haq Resources station is one of the leading solar energy projects in Jordan, employing the latest global technologies in energy production, including advanced cleaning devices for the solar panels, the first of its kind in the kingdom, which ensures high efficiency levels and continuous energy production throughout the year.
The project is nationally characterized by total Jordanian implementation in all work stages from design, construction, to operation, making it the first project of this size to be executed by a local bank (Cairo Amman Bank) and a local primary contractor. This confirms the capabilities of companies and national expertise to undertake major projects in the energy sector according to international standards.
The station stands out with its high production capacity, generating more than 160 million kilowatt-hours annually, enough to supply approximately 15 thousand homes with clean electricity. It also contributes to reducing carbon emissions by about 103 thousand tons annually, equivalent to planting 1.7 million trees or removing 22 thousand vehicles from the roads in Jordan, reflecting the positive environmental impact of the project.
