Two vehicles loaded with cut perennial forest trees seized in Ajloun

Khaberni - The Ajloun Governorate Directorate of Agriculture staff, in cooperation with the Royal Administration for Environmental Protection, seized two vehicles loaded with perennial, rare and cut trees in one of the county’s forests, in a clear violation of laws and regulations that protect the forest wealth.

Ajloun Director of Agriculture, Rami Al-Adwan, said that the staff acted immediately upon receiving the report, securing quantities of oak and pinewood trees that had been cut, and handing them over to the Iishtafina forestry station, capturing the involved individuals and the tools used, taking legal measures against them, and transferring them to the competent authorities to complete the investigations in accordance with the provisions of the Agriculture Law.

He stressed that forest trees, especially perennial oak trees, are considered invaluable national wealth for their significant environmental role in conserving biodiversity, preventing soil erosion, and contributing to ecological balance, noting that the Directorate will not tolerate any assaults on forests or forest wealth.

He indicated that the Directorate of Agriculture continues to conduct intensive surveillance tours in cooperation with security entities, especially during the winter season, urging citizens to cooperate and report any violations or assaults to preserve the forest cover.

Al-Adwan explained that protecting forests is a shared national responsibility that requires the concerted efforts of official and community sectors and enhancing awareness of the importance of preserving natural resources for future generations, pointing out that existing laws impose severe penalties for everyone proven to be involved in assaulting forest trees.
