Khaberni - The Sharia courts have commenced the appointment and election of experts and arbitrators from those registered in the Record of Expertise and Arbitration within the territorial jurisdiction of the Sharia Courts of Appeal, in execution of the provisions of the Expertise and Arbitration System at the Sharia Courts No. (94) of the year 2024, published in the Official Gazette in issue number (5965) dated December 1, 2024.
This measure comes after completing the necessary regulatory requirements to implement the system provisions, including the creation of a specialized unit for expertise and arbitration affairs within the organizational structure of the Department of the Chief Islamic Judge, and the opening of the door for receiving applications for the registration of experts and arbitrators, and their accreditation according to the conditions and standards stipulated in the system.
The number of experts and arbitrators registered in the record reached (212), whose names were circulated to the Sharia courts, while the lists are being updated and provided to the courts sequentially.
This procedure aims to organize and institutionalize the work of expertise and arbitration in the Sharia courts, unify mechanisms for appointing and electing experts and arbitrators, and enhance the efficiency of judicial services in line with the requirements of judicial work and best institutional practices.
It is expected that this development will contribute to improving the quality of expertise and arbitration work, speeding up the adjudication of cases that require expertise and arbitration, as part of the department’s plans aimed at developing the Sharia judicial system and enhancing the level of judicial services.
