Pharmacists Syndicate Chief alKilani Launches Awareness Campaign in Middle East Breaking Stereotypes About Diabetes

Khaberni -  The Community Service and Extracurricular Activities Committee at Middle East University, in collaboration with the "Pharmacy Hands" student team, organized an awareness campaign aimed at rebuilding community awareness about diabetes.

The campaign's activities were inaugurated by the head of the Jordanian Pharmacists Syndicate, Dr. Zaid al-Kilani, with participation from the university president, Professor Dr. Salam Al-Mahadin, the dean of the Pharmacy College, Professor Dr. Amjad Abu Rumaila, and several specialists.

The campaign focused on presenting a comprehensive educational content that covered medical, psychological, and nutritional aspects associated with diabetes. It included topics such as identifying different types of the disease, mechanisms of insulin resistance, polycystic ovary syndrome, in addition to highlighting potential complications and preventive measures, especially diabetic foot care.

The campaign witnessed notable interaction from students and visitors, through awareness stations supervised by Pharmacy College students, alongside active participation from specialized medical institutions; where MedLabs and the National Nutrition Center provided free medical tests and dietary consultations, while YAN company showcased the latest medical needles designed for diabetes patients.
