The United States interrogates Maduro in New York and broadcasts images of him handcuffed

Khaberni - Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro arrived in the United States on Saturday evening local time after he was arrested by American forces during a military operation in Caracas, and he is expected to appear before a federal court in Manhattan, New York City, tomorrow Monday.

Maduro was taken to the Drug Enforcement Administration offices in New York where he is undergoing preliminary investigation in preparation for his trial, shortly after his arrival on a plane at a National Guard military base north of the city.

Live footage showed the Venezuelan president surrounded by elements from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as he disembarked from a U.S. federal government plane at Stewart Air Base.

Maduro was then transported by helicopter to Manhattan, New York, where the Drug Enforcement Administration headquarters is located.

After the investigation at the administration, he is supposed to be transferred to a detention center in the Brooklyn area of the city, according to American media.

The Venezuelan president will later appear before a judge in New York to respond to charges including "drug-related terrorism" and exporting cocaine to the United States, charges he has repeatedly denied in the past.
