Growth of Irbids Industry Exports by 43 Last Year

Khaberni - Irbid's Chamber of Industry exports grew by 4.3% during the past year 2025, reaching $1.2 billion compared to $1.1 billion in 2024.

The number of certificates of origin issued by the chamber during 2025 was about 15,660 certificates, compared to 15,298 certificates in 2024, with a growth of 2.4%.

Hani Abu Hassan, president of the Irbid Chamber of Industry, told the Jordanian News Agency (Petra) that the leather and garments sector ranked first in terms of its contribution to the total exports of Irbid province at 89%, followed by the food and agricultural industries at 4.8%, and the pharmaceuticals and medical supplies industries at 3%, noting that the recent years have seen a noticeable diversification in the export structure sectorally and geographically, which contributed to reducing dependence on a single sector or market.

Abu Hassan noted that Al-Hassan Industrial City accounted for more than 96.7% of the total exports, followed by the Cyber City area with 2.6%, pointing out that these areas are centers of gravity for industrial production in the province and an attractive environment for local and foreign investments, contributing to supporting the national economy and providing job opportunities.

He explained that the United States remains the main destination for Irbid's industrial exports, accounting for more than half of the exports at 69%, while the share of European countries was 10.4%, and the Arab countries about 11.9% of the total exports, along with other markets around the world.

He affirmed that the industrial sector in the Northern region continues its balanced performance despite regional challenges and global economic conditions, pointing out that the growth rate in 2025 is considered an accomplishment reflecting the strength of the industrial sector in the province and its growing competitive ability in foreign markets despite global economic challenges and regional conditions.

Abu Hassan indicated that the Irbid Chamber of Industry continues its efforts in supporting the competitiveness of industrial companies through organizing and supporting their participation in international exhibitions, opening communication channels with new markets, and providing technical and advisory support to factories, including quality requirements, legislation, and compliance with technical specifications in target markets.
He emphasized that the next phase requires enhancing the partnership between the public and private sectors, and continuing to diversify the export base, which ensures the sustainability of the growth of industrial exports and enhances their contribution to economic development.
