Khaberni - Reuters reported, citing two informed sources, that the CIA employed a source within the Venezuelan government to help track and pinpoint the location of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, in a pivotal step that paved the way for his recent detention.
US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that American forces had arrested Maduro after conducting a "wide-ranging strike" in Venezuela, before Washington authorities announced that Maduro and his wife "will face the full wrath of American justice," on charges related to drugs and terrorism.
Trump said the operation to arrest Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro from the capital Caracas was like watching a "television show."
He added, in a phone call with "Fox News" channel, that he watched the Maduro's arrest operation via "live broadcast," and that the American forces involved in the operation have done a great job that no one else in the world could do, adding: "They did an amazing and magnificent job," according to him.
He confirmed that the military maneuver conducted by the American forces during Maduro's arrest was unprecedented, and no other country in the world could execute it, as the Venezuelan president was arrested from within a "fort."
Attorney General Pamela Bondi informed on "X" that Maduro and his wife "will soon face the full wrath of American justice on American soil and in American courts."
She mentioned that the couple faces charges in a New York federal court related to "conspiring in the context of terrorism linked to drugs, and conspiring regarding cocaine importation."
