Khaberni - Jordan's impact by the extension of what is known as the Siberian high pressure system intensifies tonight (i.e., Saturday/Sunday night), and with it temperatures drop to around zero Celsius near the surface in several areas, while the weather continues to be clearly cold on Sunday, January 4, 2026.
Very cold weather tonight and frost in several areas
In the coming hours, i.e., Saturday/Sunday night, a decrease in temperatures to around zero Celsius near the surface will occur in several parts of the kingdom and perhaps lower during the late night hours and Wednesday morning, especially above the Sharah Mountains, the Badia regions, and parts of the eastern plains.
Due to the drop in temperatures to around zero Celsius and clear skies with high humidity levels remaining, frost formation is expected in several areas (except the Jordan Valley and Aqaba) including grassy and agricultural spaces and vehicle structures, with the winds being southeast and moderate in speed, sometimes active, especially in western areas.

During the morning hours of Sunday, January 4, 2026, severely cold weather will prevail with frost formation in several areas. For the rest of the day, temperatures are expected to rise slightly but the cold feeling remains high due to the activity of the easterly winds, thus the weather will remain generally cold with maximum temperatures ranging from 8 to 12°C in various areas, while it will be relatively cold in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea areas, with medium and high clouds appearing in the afternoon and evening especially in the south and east of the kingdom, and the winds being southeast moderate with active gusts increasing the cold feeling significantly.
During the night hours of Sunday/Monday, the weather continues to be extremely cold especially in the eastern plains and mountain peaks, with the winds being active easterly in exposed and western areas increasing the feeling of cold significantly.
