Khaberni - US President Donald Trump said in an interview with "Fox News" on Saturday that the US forces that caught Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro suffered only a few injuries and there were no fatalities.
He added that he followed the live broadcast of Maduro's arrest operation by US special forces, saying it was akin to a "television show".
Trump explained that US forces waited four days before carrying out the operation, waiting for better weather conditions.
He affirmed that the United States is currently deciding on the next steps regarding Venezuelan leadership.
Trump also said that the United States would strongly engage in the Venezuelan oil sector in the coming period, confirming plans for expanding this involvement.
Trump stated he had spoken with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro a week ago, indicating that the military operation targeting Maduro was a strong signal.
Regarding the future of those loyal to Maduro, Trump added that they face a bleak future if they continue their allegiance to the Venezuelan president, warning of the consequences of that.
Trump confirmed that Maduro and his wife would be transported to New York.
The United States executed a widespread strike against Venezuela and its President Nicolas Maduro, who was captured with his wife and flown out of the country.
Meanwhile, the Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino confirmed that his country would resist the presence of foreign forces.
