Mahmoud Fayez Nominated for Coaching Zamalek The Reality and the Mirage

Khaberni - Reports in recent hours have talked about the nomination of Mahmoud Fayez, the former general coach of the Egyptian national team, to take over the technical responsibility of the Egyptian Zamalek team.

Mahmoud Fayez previously worked as an assistant in the former technical staff of the Egyptian national team under Argentine Hector Cuper between 2015 and 2018.

The Egyptian site "Kora Plus" reported that Mahmoud Fayez's name has been proposed to lead Zamalek, succeeding Ahmed Abdel Raouf.

Ahmed Abdel Raouf left Zamalek's coaching last week after leading the white team to a victory over Baladiyat El Mahalla with a goal unanswered in the Round of 32 of the Egypt Cup.

A source inside Zamalek, in statements to "Kora Plus," explained that Fayez's name was indeed proposed to lead the white team, but that was before Abdel Raouf's arrival, and not now.

Similarly, the "Masrawy" website emphasized that there are currently no negotiations between Zamalek and Fayez.

It followed: "Zamalek has not contacted Mahmoud Fayez recently or previously, as the technical staff's file is still under study, and no final decision has been reached regarding it."

Regarding Fayez's candidacy to lead Zamalek before Abdel Raouf, a Zamalek official replied: "He apologized at that time for not accepting the task, and preferred to stay away from the scene."

Zamalek is currently striving to resolve the issue of overdue payments to players in order to impose stability within the club before considering technical decisions.
