Khaberni - Reports indicate targeting the home of the Venezuelan Defense Minister and the homes of military leaders during ongoing raids on Caracas, where the attacks targeted both civilian and military sites and the center of Caracas city.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said, "They are currently bombing Caracas, and this is an alert to the whole world, they have attacked Venezuela," adding, "They are bombing us with missiles, and the Organization of American States and the United Nations must meet immediately."
The Venezuelan President issued a decision to declare a state of emergency in the country and signed an order to implement the decree that announces the emergency and the transition to armed combat, and ordered the immediate deployment of all popular defense forces across the country.
In response, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister said that the President issued a decision to activate national defense plans for all Venezuelan territory, stating that what is happening is an aggression against the Venezuelan Republic and will be immediately countered by activating all defense plans.
He added: We will face imperialist aggression by activating all defense plans.
The Venezuelan government described the current attack as an aggression by American imperialism, stating that the Republic of Venezuela strongly rejects the serious military aggression launched by the US government, and condemns in the strongest terms the serious military aggression launched by the United States of America.
The authorities confirmed that the goal of the attack on the country is to seize our wealth, especially oil and gas, and to take control of the strategic Venezuelan resources.
It emphasized that Venezuela reserves the right to exercise legitimate defense of its people, land, sovereignty, and independence.
The government called on all national forces in the country to activate general mobilization plans, affirming that it will raise appropriate complaints to the Security Council and regional and international organizations to address what it described as aggression.
