Khaberni - The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed early Saturday the request of the Saudi-supported Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council for Riyadh to host a conference aimed at resolving the crisis in southern Yemen.
The ministry said in a statement that Saudi Arabia "invites all southern components to actively participate in the conference; to develop a comprehensive vision for fair solutions to the southern issue, in a way that meets the legitimate aspirations of the southerners."
The Yemeni news agency Saba reported that Rashad Al-Alimi, the head of the Saudi-supported Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, has requested the kingdom to host a conference to resolve the crisis in the south.
Al-Alimi expressed his hope that the conference would include "all southern components, forces, and figures without exception, including the component of the Transitional Council."
