37 of Jordans Imports are from nonArab Asian Countries

Khaberni - The markets of non-Arab Asian countries continue to capture the biggest share of imports coming to Jordan; they formed more than 37% of the total imports of the kingdom during the first ten months of 2025, according to the latest foreign trade figures issued by the Department of Statistics.

According to foreign trade figures issued by the official authorities, the value of imports from these markets reached 6.390 billion dinars during the first ten months of 2025, out of a total of imports amounting to 17.347 billion dinars, according to Al-Ghad

Official figures show an increase in the value of Jordan's imports from non-Arab Asian countries until the end of October last year by 9% to reach 6.390 billion dinars compared to 5.883 billion, with the value of imports from China being 3.461 billion dinars.

Second in terms of the most important trading partners were the countries of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area, accounting for 26% of total imports until the end of October last year.

The value of imports from the countries of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area increased by 8% during the first ten months of 2025 to reach 4.585 billion dinars compared to 4.254 billion dinars, with imports from Saudi Arabia at 2.469 billion dinars.

The European Union countries ranked third among the trading partners with 15% of total imports, and a value of 2.647 billion dinars, while imports from Germany recorded 580 million dinars.

The value of the kingdom's imports from the European Union during the first ten months of 2025 rose by 12.4%, reaching 2.647 billion dinars compared to 2.355 billion dinars in 2024.

In fourth place were the countries of the North American Free Trade Agreement, accounting for 9% of total imports of the kingdom, with a value of 1.518 billion dinars until the end of October last year.

According to official figures, imports from the countries of the North American Free Trade Agreement during the first ten months of 2025 saw an increase of 36% to reach 1.518 billion dinars compared to 1.119 billion dinars.

The remaining economic blocs constituted 13% of total imports of the kingdom, with a value of 2.207 billion dinars until the end of October last year.

It should be noted that the total value of Jordan's imports recorded an increase of 11% during the first ten months of 2025, compared to its level of 17.374 billion dinars during the same period in 2024.

The Department of Statistics attributed this to the increase in the value of imports of some goods such as vehicles and bicycles and their parts by 17.5%, cereals by 1.9%, precious jewelry by 70.3%, and mechanical machines and tools and their parts by 25.2%.

Also, the value of total exports increased by 7.7%, amounting to 8.5 billion dinars during the first ten months of 2025 compared to 7.9 billion dinars for the same period last year.

The department attributed the increase in the value of exports to the growth in exports of some goods such as chemical fertilizers by 5.4%, precious jewelry by 10.2%, pharmaceutical preparations by 6.1%, raw phosphate by 12.3%, and raw potash by 16.6%.

Based on the above data, the deficit in the trade balance during the first ten months of 2025 increased by 14% to 8.7 billion dinars compared to 7.6 billion for the same period last year.
