Khaberni - Clubs of the professional football league are anticipating the decision of the financial committee in the Football Association, regarding the claims they made in the past days, which are related to providing financial support to the clubs from the prize money awarded to the national team, after it finished as runner-up in the Arab Cup tournament.
A responsible source in one of the professional clubs revealed that the clubs demanded through their representatives in the Football Association, the necessity of allocating part of the Arab Cup prize for supporting the clubs, in light of the severe financial crisis currently afflicting their funds, according to Al-Ghad.
The source explained that the claims were forwarded to the club representatives in the Football Association, executive body members Ahmed Warekat of the temporary committee of Al-Faisaly Club, and Amer Abu Ubaid, president of Al-Hussein Irbid Club, along with member Mohammed Samara, emphasizing that the clubs stressed that the recent achievement of the national team is a result of cumulative efforts, indicating that the clubs were the main feeder, being the primary source for supplying the national teams with players.
The source added that the clubs confirmed during their demands the necessity of providing financial support, which would enable them to meet their accumulated obligations, whether towards the players or the technical and administrative staff, especially in the face of difficult economic conditions and the absence of stable resources.
It also noted that the clubs' demands also included compensation for the long pause in league competitions, which lasted for about two months, exacerbating the financial burdens, as obligations continued without incoming revenues.
The source pointed out that the financial situation in many clubs has become extremely worrying, explaining that some clubs witnessed cases where players abstained from participating in training sessions during the past period due to not receiving their financial dues, which threatens negative repercussions on the stability of the teams and the level of competition.
He confirmed that the clubs are currently waiting for the decision of the financial committee in the Football Association, hoping for a response to these demands, which would contribute to alleviating the crisis and ensuring the continuity of technical and administrative work within the clubs.
On the other hand, the same source inferred that the Football Association might have already received the monetary prize for the national team securing the second place in the Arab Cup tournament, which is supposed to amount to about 4.3 million dollars.
He clarified that the national team players have not yet received their financial rewards for the recent achievements of the Nashama, mentioning that the Football Association will deliver each player an amount of 50,000 dollars, pending the completion of the necessary administrative procedures for its disbursement.
In this context, observers believe that the decision of the financial committee will be a critical juncture in the relationship between the Football Association and professional clubs, especially in the face of increasing financial burdens and the absence of sustainable solutions.
These observers affirm that any delay in making a clear decision may negatively reflect on the stability of local competitions, and affect the technical readiness of the clubs in the upcoming stage, at a time when the stage requires enhancing the partnership between the union and the clubs, ensuring the continuity of competitions and developing Jordanian football at various levels.
