Sadiq Khan Trumps Criticism of London Indicates Jealousy of the Citys Success

Khaberni - The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, expressed his belief that US President, Donald Trump, frequently attacks the British capital, London, due to his jealousy of the city's international success, in his words.

Khan affirmed that London is considered "incredibly successful," and these successes are the reason behind Trump's continuous attacks on the city.

The Mayor of London reignited the verbal war with the US President a few days ago, emphasizing that London is safer than any other US city.

Khan claimed that Trump attacks the British capital only because he feels that the United States lacks global cities that could compete with London internationally.

Khan, who has been the Mayor of London since 2016, pointed out that some parliament members who criticize the capital suffer from a lack of patriotism, accusing them of criticizing London due to its "excessive success."

He added that London is a diverse, progressive, liberal, multicultural, and incredibly successful city, and the criticism from the MPs reflects their rejection of these values.

This escalation is part of the ongoing long-term dispute between the Mayor of London from the Labour Party and Trump, who has previously described Khan as a "terrible, terrible, disgusting mayor."

Khan asked in an interview with the "Financial Times" whether Trump is "obsessed" with talking about London after these repeated criticisms.

Trump had previously claimed that parts of London have become no-go zones for the police.

Khan said that London is currently facing a "bitter cultural war," including an increase in racism, but he affirmed that part of the attacks on the city stems from Trump's jealousy due to the absence of American cities capable of competing with London internationally.

He explained that the murder rate in London is much lower compared to any US state, including New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, noting that this comparison supports the idea that London is a safe and successful city.

Khan mentioned that Trump's belittling of London might be understandable to him, but he expressed disappointment that British MPs adopt policies or stances that devalue the city, and he warned the British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, against adopting tax policies that might alienate the wealthy, referencing the importance of protecting London's success and its continued status as a global city.
