Khaberni - Mohamed Sami takes a bold step towards acting, after his original plan for the series «8 Shots» was halted before it could see the light. The project, which was to involve actor Fathy Abdel Wahab and to be directed by Ahmed El Masry, son of the artist Majed El Masry, faced a series of production obstacles and the withdrawal of some prominent stars, leading to a complete freeze in preparations.
However, Sami did not allow this setback to stop his dream of standing in front of the camera. Close sources confirmed that the Egyptian director immediately began looking for a new script that would allow him to appear in a different acting experience, carrying strong social messages, planning to portray a teacher facing the "private lesson mafia" in a stark conflict with the exploitation of students and their families for huge financial profits.
The new script sheds light on the educational crises in Egypt, and focuses on presenting a positive model of educational staff, along with highlighting innovative methods of acquiring knowledge, making Sami's first acting experience an opportunity to deliver an important message to society, away from traditional action and drama.
Mohamed Sami, who made a notable presence in the last Ramadan season with the direction of two successful series, «Esh Esh» and «Sid Al-Nas», decided to temporarily step away from the director’s chair and travel abroad to immerse in study, after 15 years of continuous work, for fear that the audience may feel a repeat or saturation of his artistic style.
On her part, his wife, actress Mai Omar, confirmed that the decision came to regain activity and renew inspiration away from the pressures of filming, while Sami sees this experience as a new opportunity to redefine his artistic career, this time in front of the camera.
So far, the start date for filming the new work has not been announced, but anticipation is growing among his audience, eager to see the seasoned director confidently step into the world of acting, in an adventure carrying ambition and an important social message.
