Khaberni - The director of Meteorology, Raed Ra'ed Al Khattab, stated that the Kingdom was affected at dawn on Thursday, 01/01/2026 by the third atmospheric depression during the forty-day winter of 2025/2026, which Thanks to God, resulted in varying intensity rains covering most parts of the Kingdom, concentrated with their intensity in the northern and central regions and later extending to parts of the southwestern regions, while some provinces did not witness notable rainfalls.
Al Khattab pointed out that this depression contributed to increasing the rainfall ratios from the general seasonal average for the current rainy season 2025/2026, with increases ranging from 1% to 20% in various regions, especially the northern, central, and parts of the southwestern regions.
He explained that the highest rainfall was recorded at Deir Alla Station in the central Jordan Valley, amounting to (55.2) mm, which is 20% of its general seasonal average, followed by the Salt Monitoring Station with a total of (49.5) mm, which is 10% of its general seasonal average, and then Ras Munif Station in Ajloun Governorate with a total of (47.6) mm, which is 8% of its general seasonal average.
The capital Amman recorded the highest rainfall at the Gardens of Hussein Station amounting to (36.0) mm, which is 8% of its general seasonal average, while the rainfall at Al Rabba Monitoring Station in Karak Governorate amounted to (18.1) mm, which is 6% of its general seasonal average.
The director of Meteorology affirmed that the situation of the current rainy season 2025/2026, up to date, specifically until nine o'clock in the morning of Friday 02/01/2026, is considered higher than its general averages for this time of the year in all regions of the Kingdom, pointing out that the rains of this winter's quadrennial were good in its first quarter and exceeded the values supposed to be achieved for this date in most regions of the Kingdom, praising God Almighty for this blessing and goodness that spread across various parts of the nation.
At the same time, Al Khattab emphasized that a final judgment on the overall situation of the rainy season cannot be made until it has entirely ended, confirming that evaluating the season remains subject to ongoing updates with the atmospheric systems affecting the Kingdom during the remainder of the season, and based on what the monitoring stations of the administration record... the chart below.
