Khaberni - Under the patronage of Hajija bint Jaifar Al Said, esteemed and with the presence of a number of Excellencies, officials, community leaders, businessmen, and loyal fans, the Thursday evening inauguration at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Boushar marked the start of the twelfth edition of the Expatriate Football Championship. It is permanently titled "We Love You, Oman", exclusively organized by the Jordanian Community Club in the Sultanate of Oman, and features twelve teams from the resident communities in Oman.
Following the Sultanate's and the Royal anthems and the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by the honorable Omar Al Omari, and the entry of the participating teams, Mr. Ammar Obaidat, the chairman of the Jordanian Community Club's board, delivered a speech. He expressed gratitude towards the patron of the event, welcomed everyone, thanked the teams for their participation and cooperation with relevant entities, sponsors, and media outlets in several countries, emphasizing the significance of the event, describing the philosophy of the championship, its noble goals and beautiful purpose, and reiterated the Jordanian Community Club's commitment over the years to organising and continuously developing the championship, carrying the motto "We Love You, Oman" which is not just a slogan expressed in words but a sentiment and reality we live and commit to, both in word and deed.
Organizing the championship, despite all challenges over the years, is nothing but an expression of gratitude, loyalty, and recognition towards the people and leadership of the Sultanate of Oman. The championship clearly and sincerely reflects the feelings of love between the expatriate communities residing in the land of love and peace, where we differ in the colors of our shirts on the field but unite in our feelings, goals, and noble competition that matches the ethics of knights.
The event also included an introductory video by Masaya Photography Company, providing an overview of the championship, its history, documenting its moments and events.
The event was managed by Dr. Mansour Al-Qudah, known for his distinguished presence and brilliant performance.
Her Highness Lady Hajija Al Said graciously declared the opening of the championship.
Afterward, everyone enjoyed the opening match between the Jordanian and Lebanese community teams, which ended with a commendable performance by both sides, earning praise and providing enjoyment for the attendees.
The championship enjoys significant media attention and coverage, with numerous interviews conducted by the sports channel of Omani Television, where everyone agreed on the importance of the championship, its philosophy, achievement of goals, and the continuous success in organization and development year after year.
