Khaberni - Egyptian media personality Yasmin Az sparked a wide controversy on social media, after her discussion about the "New Year's Prohibitions".
Az stated during the program “Kalam Al-Nas”, broadcasted on MBC Egypt, that the year 2026 should witness a radical change in the concepts of dealing within marital relationships, emphasizing that there is nothing called "a cheating man", and calling for the complete elimination of this term and replacing it with the concept of "having multiple relationships with women", as she put it, likening the matter to human resources systems "HR".
She added that among the prohibitions for the new year, a wife should not ask her husband to endure, saying: "There's nothing called telling your husband to bear with me.. you are not pregnant ma’am", emphasizing the need to stop this type of requests.
Az also stressed that phone communication between spouses must adhere to new rules, explaining: "When you call your husband there's nothing called where are you, when are you coming back, or why aren’t you answering.. Cancel these questions from last year", urging wives not to call their husbands while they are sitting with friends or during watching matches.
She also called for allowing personal space for men, saying: "Try hard to let him enjoy, let him be comfortable", adding: "Why restrict his happiness if it’s without you? Maybe he is happy because it’s without you".
