Khaberni - The Arab Weather website said that the effects of the cold air front reached the southern parts of the kingdom, specifically the governorates of Karak and Tafilah, and the southern Ghor and the Dead Sea areas, during dawn and morning of Friday. Heavy rainfall is expected, increasing the risk of valley and flood flows and causing soil and rock drifts in the affected areas.
Meanwhile, the rains continue to fall in some northern areas and are more intense in the central parts of the kingdom on the morning of Friday. Low clouds skimming the ground will create dense fog over the high mountainous elevations, leading to reduced, and possibly zero, horizontal visibility on some roads.
During the rest of Friday, the low-pressure system moves away from the kingdom, while cold and humid air currents continue, making temperatures 3-4 degrees Celsius colder than average. Generally cold weather prevails, with clouds appearing at different altitudes, and intermittent rainfall occurring in parts of the north and center of the kingdom and some southern highlands.
Key recommendations during the weather condition:
Wear warm clothes especially during the night and early morning hours.
Safe use of heating equipment.
Drive cautiously and leave a sufficient safety distance during rains and fog.
Be aware of the risk of floods and flowing valleys, especially in low-lying areas and places where floods usually form.
Be cautious of land and rock slides, particularly in the southern highlands and areas of slopes and valleys.
Be mindful of dense fog and reduced horizontal visibility on external roads.
