Khaberni - The Ministry of Public Works and Housing confirmed the continuity of its field teams in supporting the municipal efforts in Al Iraq town in Karak Governorate to address the effects of the floods that the region has recently experienced.
In a press statement released on Thursday, the ministry emphasized its full commitment to supporting the municipal efforts and alleviating the burdens on citizens, despite the harassment and assaults its teams faced due to "individual actions".
The ministry explained that its technical teams continue to work at a high pace within the town "which is not originally within its official jurisdiction", moving machinery to provide support and assistance as part of national and collaborative responsibility.
While the ministry appreciates the cooperation of the vast majority of the local community, it has filed an official complaint with the security forces regarding the individual transgressions that occurred, requesting security escort for the field teams to ensure the continuity of work without obstacles and to protect the employees and machinery, ensuring tasks are completed in the best way and as quickly as possible.
The ministry outlined the exceptional support directed to the town of Al Iraq, noting that currently 10 vehicles belonging to the public works department are operating alongside the municipal vehicles. This represents nearly half of the total number of heavy vehicles belonging to the ministry in Karak Governorate, which totals 22 various vehicles including bulldozers, graders, and dump trucks. This underlines the ministry's commitment to utilizing all available resources to serve the region's residents and secure their damaged roads.
The ministry renewed its call for continued cooperation with the working teams in the field and facilitating their tasks, affirming that the local community's collaboration with the technical teams is the essential guarantee to successfully overcome the effects of the weather conditions, and expressing high confidence in the awareness of the sons of Al Iraq town and their eagerness to protect the efforts that are primarily made to serve them and ensure their safety.
