Jerash Municipality places 200 employees on call and increases readiness to face weather conditions

Khaberni - The Greater Jerash Municipality placed about 200 employees on call, including workers, technicians, and drivers, where they were instructed to remain in continuous duty and on call, in order to increase readiness to deal with weather conditions, according to the Executive Director of the Greater Jerash Municipality, Ali Shawqa.

Shawqa said that the municipality dealt with many observations focused on water accumulations and soil erosion, where the emergency teams handled and resolved them, explaining that all heavy and light machinery were equipped and maintained, and all required tools and engines were provided.

Shawqa added that the municipality has increased its maximum readiness in preparation to perform its duty in protecting properties and dealing with various weather conditions, clarifying that emergency room and complaint numbers were posted on social media sites and all media outlets, in addition to personal numbers of department heads and employees working in the municipality.

Shawqa explained that the municipality identified hotspots and worked to station staff in those areas for rapid response to any observations, pointing out that five operation rooms were opened, which are: the main operation room in the municipality, the operation room in the Sof area, the operation room in Deir el-Kalitat area, the operation room in the Takaffir area, and the operation room in the Tall area.
