Khaberni - The growth of sales at the Chinese company (BYD) slowed to 7.73% in 2025, marking the weakest growth pace in five years, as the Chinese manufacturer of electric vehicles is strenuously trying to face increasing local competition and a decline in its technological edge.
According to a stock exchange filing on Thursday, total sales of BYD fell by 18.3% in December compared to the previous year, continuing its decline for the fourth month and recording the largest monthly decrease in nearly two years.
Annually, sales increased by 7.73 percent to 4.6 million vehicles, thus achieving the reduced production target it had previously announced.
The Chinese company reduced its 2025 sales target by 16% due to weak domestic sales beginning in July amidst competition from companies including Geely and Leap Motor in the economy car category.
