World Newspapers Israel Undermines Gaza Agreement and Braces for Escalation in Lebanon

Khaberni - Global newspapers discussed Israel's efforts to undermine the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, its readiness to escalate its operations against Lebanon, and mentioned a new Russian military threat to Europe.

The "Washington Post" wrote that Israel, citing security reasons, imposed harsh conditions on the operation of humanitarian organizations in Gaza, declaring that not retreating from these conditions "threatens to undermine a fundamental pillar of the ceasefire agreement mediated by the United States, which stipulates full access to humanitarian aid."

The newspaper quoted Athena Rabon - who represents over 100 organizations operating in Gaza and the West Bank - as saying it is disappointing that President Donald Trump's administration did not exert greater influence in this matter that affects the second phase of the ceasefire and the path of the proposed peace plan.

Meanwhile, "Maariv" newspaper spoke about the Israeli military's readiness for an anticipated escalation in Lebanon with the expiry of the deadline set for Hezbollah's disarmament. It said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu - wanted by the International Criminal Court for alleged war crimes in Gaza - alone has the power to stop this step.

The newspaper's military analyst said that the security establishment will present to the political level options for action against Hezbollah, which would not jeopardize the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon.

According to the analyst, Israel aims to be able to return after the operation to working with Lebanon on implementing the terms of the agreement, encouraging the Beirut government to act more effectively against Hezbollah.

Statistics and Implications
"Times of Israel" published official statistics showing an increase in reverse migration for the second consecutive year, coinciding with population growth rates reaching the lowest levels in history.

The newspaper revealed that more than 69,000 Israelis left in 2025, under the pressure of the war, registering a loss in the migration balance of about 20,000, the first time this balance has recorded a loss for two consecutive years in decades.

In "Jerusalem Post," a French expert warned of the danger of Washington's nuclear ally (Israel), which is pushing the world toward chaos, saying that Trump's reliance on instinct rather than science and logic "weakens the Israeli and American deterrence positions, especially when facing potentially irrational opponents," according to his description.

The writer said that Trump's threats of military retaliation "will not protect Israel, as the proliferation of nuclear including low-cost technology and radiological weapons has become common, making unimaginable weapons a plausible risk to Israel itself."

On another matter, the Russian newspaper "Moscow Vecherny Konsol Borits" highlighted the readiness of the Russian missile system "Orishnik" in Belarus, stating it was an unusual event.

It mentioned that this system, which Moscow announced as combat-ready in Belarus this year, "is incomparable to any other weapon and matches tactical nuclear weapons."

The newspaper concluded that this move "puts any European target including Britain and Portugal within range of these missiles, which have a range of over 5,000 kilometers."
