The Meteorological Department Visibility in Ras Munif less than 50 meters due to fog

Khaberni - The Meteorological Department confirmed on Thursday that the horizontal visibility in the area of Ras Munif in Ajloun Governorate is less than 50 meters, due to the effect of fog and prevailing weather conditions.

The Meteorological Department warned drivers of low visibility in that area, urging them to exercise caution while driving.

Regarding the weather, the Meteorological Department indicated moderate to heavy rainfall in parts of the north and central areas of the kingdom.

The Meteorological Department announced on Thursday the beginning of the impact of the atmospheric depression on the kingdom, with light to moderate rainfall in parts of Irbid Governorate and the northern Jordan Valley.

The department added that the rainfall will increase in intensity in the northern regions in the upcoming short period, accompanied by thunderstorms and hail.

The kingdom is affected on Thursday by a cold and humid air mass accompanying an atmospheric depression centered north of the island of Cyprus, where temperatures drop and the weather is cold and partly cloudy, with rainfall in the early morning hours starting from the north of the kingdom, and gradually in the afternoon extending to central areas and parts of eastern regions.

According to the Meteorological Department report, it is expected that the rain will be heavy at times, especially in the northern and central kingdom including the northern and central Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea area, accompanied by thunder and hail in some areas, and it is expected during the night that rainfall will gradually extend to limited parts of the southwestern regions, and the winds will be westerly active with strong gusts occasionally reaching speeds of (50-60) km/h, stirring up dust in desert areas, turning in the nighttime to moderate to active northwesterly winds.

The Meteorological Department warns of the danger of flood formation in valleys and low-lying areas in the north and central kingdom including the northern and central Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea area, and from the danger of strong wind speeds and accompanying gusts, and from reduced horizontal visibility due to dust in desert areas, and from the reduced horizontal visibility due to fog and low clouds touching the ground, especially over mountainous highlands, and from the danger of slipping on roads experiencing rainfall, emphasizing the need not to risk crossing waterlogged areas.

The maximum and minimum temperatures in East Amman range from 12 - 6 degrees Celsius, in West Amman 10 - 4, in the northern highlands 8 - 4, in the Sharah highlands 9 - 3, in the desert areas 14 - 4, in the plains areas 13 - 5, in the northern Jordan Valley 20 - 9, in the southern Jordan Valley 22 - 10, at the Dead Sea 21 - 10, and in the Gulf of Aqaba 22 - 9 degrees Celsius.

The temperatures drop slightly on Friday; the weather will be cold and partly to occasionally cloudy with the chance of rain showers from time to time in parts of the western regions, and the winds will be moderate northwesterly, active at times.

The weather on Saturday will be cold in most areas, and pleasantly warm in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba with some low clouds appearing, and the winds will be moderate easterly.

On Sunday, temperatures rise slightly; the weather will be cold in most areas and pleasantly warm in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with high clouds appearing, and the winds will be moderate south-easterly, occasionally active.
