The Greater Amman Municipality has announced a "maximum water" emergency status starting from Thursday morning, in response to the weather depression affecting the Kingdom.
The Municipality affirmed that its field crews are ready to deal with any reports received by the Tlaa Al Ali emergency room, urging citizens to contact the unified call center numbers (102 and 117180) if any observations are noticed.
The Municipality also urged citizens to take caution and avoid valleys and low-lying areas, and to refrain from indiscriminately disposing of waste; as it affects the closure of rainwater drainage lines.
It emphasized the importance of checking submersible pumps in basements and commercial stores located below street level, in addition to the necessity for merchants to take precautionary measures when storing goods in warehouses and lower floors.
It also stressed the importance for contractors and owners of construction projects to secure building materials, to avoid their drift and potential to block rainwater drainage lines.
