Samsung Phones Facing Price Hike

Khaberni - Price increases for "Samsung" devices appear almost inevitable in 2026, amidst rising costs of basic components and continuous pressures on the global supply chains, according to reports circulated within the tech industry.

Information indicates that the South Korean company is considering raising the prices of a number of Galaxy phones, tablets, and laptops, as the cost of components increases, particularly memory chips, which are experiencing unprecedented demand due to a global surge in artificial intelligence technologies.

Artificial intelligence pressures the memory market
The rapid expansion of generative artificial intelligence technologies has increased the demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips used in data centers and AI processors, leading to a rise in the prices of traditional memory used in smartphones and consumer devices, according to a report published by "gizmochina" and reviewed by "Al Arabiya Business".

With the supply unable to keep up with demand, manufacturers face higher costs for producing devices that heavily rely on memory, such as phones, tablets, and laptops.

Other components also drive up the bill
The pressure is not limited to memory, as advanced OLED displays and camera units have also seen noticeable price developments, alongside rising labor and marketing costs, amid intensifying competition in the smartphone market.

Companies with limited profit margins, especially in the mid-range category, are more likely to pass these increases directly onto consumers.

Anticipated price hikes in some markets
In India, reports indicate that "Samsung" is considering raising the prices of some Galaxy A phones by up to about 2,000 Indian Rupees.

It is also expected that the Galaxy S26 series will be priced higher than the current generation Galaxy S25 if the pressures on the memory market continue until 2027, according to analysts' estimates.

Opportunity to buy before the hike
Currently, many "Samsung" devices are still sold at reduced prices during seasonal offers in several markets, including Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy S25 Ultra phones, Galaxy Watch 8, and OLED TVs.

With increasing indicators of future price rises, now might be an opportune time for Galaxy device enthusiasts to upgrade before the anticipated wave of inflation in the coming years.
