Khaberni - A Kuwaiti court has issued a decision to place the artist Shjoon Al-Hajri in one of the specialized rehabilitation centers for addiction treatment for a period not exceeding one year.
According to Kuwaiti media reports, the decision came after the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior announced the capture of the artist with quantities of marijuana and cocaine intended for consumption, where necessary legal procedures were taken against her before referring her to the competent judicial authorities.
The placement of Shjoon Al-Hajri in the rehabilitation center comes within the framework of the legal policy followed in Kuwait, which balances between legal accountability and providing treatment and psychological support to users, with the aim of rehabilitating and reintegrating them back into society, rather than merely imposing custodial punishments.
In a separate context, the artist’s family is going through tough humanitarian circumstances, as Matr Al-Hajri, Shjoon's father, was admitted to the intensive care unit in one of Kuwait's major hospitals after falling into a coma in recent days, amid a significant deterioration in his health condition. Sources close to the family described his condition as extremely critical, with ongoing intensive medical monitoring.
On the artistic front, one of the latest works of Shjoon Al-Hajri was her participation in the musical play “Made in Kuwait 2: Everything in the Cold,” which was presented in a comedic fictional framework, showcasing prominent milestones from Kuwaiti history and industry, through a humorous symbolic conflict between traditional and modern ice cream characters, indicating the importance of balancing heritage and innovation.
The work starred several art stars, among them Mahmoud BouShahri, Abdullah BouShahri, Ali Kakooli, Eman Al-Husseini, and Abdullah Abdul Reda, and was written by Jasem Al-Jalahma and directed by Shamlan Al-Nassar.
