College of Nursing at AlZaytoonah University of Jordan organizes an awareness workshop on organ donation and transplantation in

Khaberni - The College of Nursing at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, organized an awareness workshop titled "Organ Donation and Transplantation and the Reality of Organ Transplantation in Jordan", emphasizing the importance of this health issue due to its humanitarian and medical dimensions that contribute to saving lives and improving the quality of life. The workshop was attended by the Dean of the College of Nursing, Dr. Hassan Abu Al-Riz, and a number of faculty members and students, alongside a group of academics and specialists and interested individuals.

During the workshop, Dr. Khader Al-Rawajfeh from the Jordanian Center for Organ Transplantation, affiliated with the Ministry of Health, gave a comprehensive presentation on the status of organ transplantation in Jordan, donation mechanisms, and the adopted medical procedures, highlighting the national efforts made to develop this vital sector. Dr. Tareq Harb, a neurosurgery specialist, addressed the medical aspects related to brain death and transplantation mechanisms in these cases, explaining the scientific and medical foundations adopted.

For his part, the Dean of the College of Nursing, Dr. Hassan Abu Al-Riz, emphasized the importance of organizing such awareness events that contribute to raising health awareness among students and the community, and promoting positive concepts associated with organ donation, stressing the pivotal role of the nursing profession in health education and support for patients and their families.

The workshop included scientific and educational segments focused on the medical, ethical, and legal aspects of organ donation and transplantation, alongside opening discussion and exchanging experiences among participants. At the conclusion of the workshop, the speakers emphasized the need to establish a culture of organ donation in the society, and to strengthen cooperation between academic and health institutions to support national programs and develop the organ transplantation system in Jordan.
