Jordan emphasizes the need for immediate international community action to face the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza

Khaberni - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs affirmed the need for immediate international community action to face the humanitarian catastrophe that Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are suffering from, under harsh weather conditions which are exacerbated by the continued Israeli restrictions on aid entry. It demands Israel to remove all restrictions and obstacles to the immediate, sufficient, and sustainable entry of humanitarian aid into the sector.

The ministry's spokesperson, Ambassador Fuad Al-Majali, clarified that the tragic humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip, facing an unprecedented humanitarian disaster due to the destruction caused by the Israeli aggression and Israel's ongoing prevention of sufficient aid entries, necessitate an immediate international action that obliges Israel to open the crossings for immediate and sufficient humanitarian aid into all areas of the sector.

Al-Majali emphasized the necessity of Israel's compliance with its obligations according to international law and humanitarian international law, and not to obstruct humanitarian access, and to approve and facilitate aid and relief programs provided to the sector, including those offered by UN organizations and agencies, particularly the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and international non-governmental organizations, and not to prevent them and enable them to provide assistance to Palestinians and deliver humanitarian aid throughout the sector, especially under extremely difficult circumstances.
