Jordan The army thwarts more than 418 infiltration and smuggling attempts and shoots down 89 drones in 2025

In an unstoppable march, within a solid approach titled discipline, readiness, and sacrifice, the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army continued during 2025 to record their active presence in all duty fields, reaffirming that they are the strong fence for the homeland, the solid pillar of its security and stability, and its impregnable fortress in the face of challenges and crises.

Besides their core role in protecting the kingdom's borders on land, sea, and air, and supporting security forces in various duties, the armed forces have emerged as the most organized and widespread force, the quickest to respond in dealing with emergencies and disasters, based on trained human capabilities, advanced potential, and carefully executed plans with high precision and efficiency.

The year 2025 witnessed a dense field, humanitarian, and developmental giving, during which the army's stalwarts painted pictures of glory and pride, embodying the meanings of nobility and dignity, and confirming that their duty is not limited to defending the borders but extends to protecting people wherever they are.

The armed forces continued their humanitarian role within and outside the kingdom, by providing relief aid, actively participating in extinguishing fires in neighboring countries, assisting disaster victims, and extending a helping hand to everyone in need, practically translating their national and humanitarian mission.

These achievements are an extension of the vision of His Majesty the Supreme Commander, King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, may God protect and care for him, and with direct supervision from the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, ensuring the maintenance of the highest levels of readiness, and enhancing the national capacity to face security, technological, and humanitarian challenges under various conditions.

On the operational level, the armed forces enhanced their surveillance of the northern, eastern, and southern borders, through updating monitoring and tracking systems, developing rules of engagement, and supporting ground forces through the Royal Air Force, enabling them to thwart many infiltration attempts and organized smuggling operations.

These efforts resulted in the seizure of 18,938,266 pills of various drugs, 251 kg of hashish, hydro, Captagon, and crystal, in addition to seizing 14,471 hashish loaves, thwarting more than 418 infiltration and smuggling attempts, shooting down 89 drones, and seizing 168 pieces of light weaponry since the beginning of 2025.

In the context of rapid development in armament systems, the armed forces experienced a qualitative leap in military and technological updating, through the introduction of the latest command and control systems, visual and thermal monitoring systems, establishing new military points and defensive fortifications, introducing reconnaissance and offensive drones, developing short and medium-range air defense systems, updating infantry and anti-armor weapons, in addition to integrating artificial intelligence technologies in command and control systems, and creating new military specialties in the fields of cybersecurity and aviation technology and control.

The armed forces also conducted a wide range of joint field exercises and training with brotherly and friendly armies, aimed at raising the level of readiness, enhancing the ability for joint operations, and keeping up with the changes in the regional environment, within a continuous system of assessment and development of units and formations.

On the humanitarian front, the armed forces continued their noble mission through Jordanian field hospitals in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, where they provided medical and treatment services from the beginning of 2025 up to now for hundreds of thousands of attendees, with the Jordanian Field Hospital Gaza/Tel Hawa receiving 65,607 attendees, the Jordanian Field Hospital Nablus 137,496 attendees, the Jordan Field Hospital South Gaza/Khan Younis 295,056 attendees, while the Jordanian Surgical Station in Ramallah received 10,814 attendees, and the Jordanian Surgical Station in Jenin received 8,164 attendees, along with installing 747 upper and lower prosthetic limbs for the wounded as part of the "Restoring Hope" initiative.

In the field of relief, since the beginning of the war on Gaza, the armed forces executed 164 Jordanian air drops, and 400 air drops in cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries, totaling 564 air drops, transferring about 4420 tons of humanitarian and medical aid, and also transported about 125 tons of medicines and urgent aid through 102 helicopter flights of the air bridge, and conducted 150 relief convoys in cooperation with the Hashemite Charitable Organisation to the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, containing 7456 trucks loaded with aid totaling 149,120 tons.

In the framework of enhancing national readiness, the conscription program, which was relaunched by His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, Crown Prince, continued its plans for 2025, after summoning 6000 recruits from various governorates of the kingdom, with 2000 recruits per session, where they will undergo practical and theoretical training for 3 months per session at Shuwaier Training Camp, accompanied by royal guidance in opening modern buildings, equipping advanced training facilities, and updating curricula and training methods, to prepare a generation capable of bearing its defensive responsibilities efficiently and ably.

The Royal Medical Services remain one of the main pillars in the system of the armed forces, providing comprehensive health services in 2025 to members of the armed forces, security devices, and their families, along with a wide segment of civil society, through the Medical City and hospitals and medical service centers scattered in various governorates of the kingdom. Achievements included receiving dental patients at the recently established Medical and Oral Surgery Complex, operating the gynecology and obstetrics departments at Latrun Military Hospital, establishing a military medical center in Naour, a specialized clinic for the treatment of tinnitus, introducing a central monitoring system using artificial intelligence to monitor 2000 intensive care patients, in addition to introducing advanced therapeutic technologies such as T-cell therapy, bone marrow transplantation for multiple sclerosis patients, implanting devices to treat epilepsy and Parkinson's disease, and catheter-based heart valve replacement technique.

The armed forces believe that nation-building begins with the individual and that the pen and weapon are two wings of the same message, contributed by the Directorate of Education, Military Culture, and Social Services, in providing distinguished educational and social services to the children of military personnel and the rural communities, where the directorate provided free education to more than 21,724 students in 54 schools spread across various regions of the kingdom.

Moreover, the national company for employment and training continues its path of construction and giving; His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, inaugurated the Aqaba National Vocational Training Complex (ANVT) and worked on equipping an outstanding training center in the city of Karak with an area of 2000 square meters and providing it with the latest training equipment, obtaining international accreditation of quality (ISO 9001), and quality certificates (ISO 45001) for occupational health and safety, as well as the quality certificate (ISO 14001) for the environment, with the number of trainees in the company since its establishment reaching 41,850 trainees, of which 35,139 graduated, and 27,452 joined the labor market with an employment rate of 78.1 percent, while other institutes and colleges of the armed forces continue to train and qualify their ranks.

Also, the armed forces continue their role in enhancing food security, as an integral part of the comprehensive national security, through the establishment of 105 markets and commercial centers belonging to it in various governorates of the kingdom, to provide basic goods to citizens at affordable prices.

In the context of honoring those who served the nation, the "Comrades-in-Arms" program continues to care for retired military personnel and the families of martyrs, enhancing the spirit of belonging and active participation in the defense of Jordan, translated by royal attention to them through communication and consultations during various national occasions, thus confirming the sincerity of His Majesty the Supreme Leader's description of them as the inexhaustible national source of expertise, as they have served with honesty, loyalty, and integrity.

At the same time, the armed forces maintained their regional and international standing as a professional force participating in peacekeeping operations, combating terrorism, and humanitarian relief, in various parts of the world.

In conclusion, through these accumulated achievements, the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army reaffirm that they are the secure shield of the kingdom, the steadfast support of the Jordanian people, and will continue resolutely in the path of development and updating, preserving the security and stability of the homeland, and safeguarding its sovereignty and the dignity of its sons.
