Jordan Deputy requests government to allow installment payments of traffic fines to boost vehicle licensing

Khaberni - Member of Parliament, Dr. Hayel Al-Ayash, has submitted an official memo to the Prime Minister's office urging for the adoption of a flexible mechanism for vehicle licensing.

The demand focuses on the possibility of allowing the installment payment or deferment of accumulated traffic fines, instead of forcing owners to pay them in one lump sum at renewal.

This initiative, as mentioned, comes as a result of the current economic conditions the citizens are facing, which have made the payment of steep fines a barrier to compliance with the laws.

Deputy Al-Ayash explained in his letter that a large number of car owners have become unable to license their vehicles due to the burden of accumulated financial penalties.

This situation has in turn led to a wide range of vehicles falling outside the legal framework for driving, despite the owners' desire to rectify their status and comply with the existing regulations.

The memo indicates that finding accessible procedural solutions would serve as an incentive for thousands of citizens to return to the official licensing umbrella.
