Khaberni - The director of the Jordanian Seismological Observatory, Ghassan Sweidan, said on Tuesday that the observatory recorded a 4.2 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale off the coasts of Syria.
Sweidan added that the earthquake occurred at exactly 6:05 PM Jordan time, off the coasts of the Syrian city of Latakia, at a depth of 60 kilometers below the earth's surface.
He mentioned that the earthquake was felt in the Syrian coastal areas, clarifying that it is about 380 kilometers away from the capital, Amman.
