6 Simple Steps for Caring for an OLED Screen

Khaberni - With the increasing spread of high-quality OLED screens in TVs, gaming devices, and desktop computers, it becomes important to know the appropriate care methods for them to ensure their continued visual performance and extend their lifespan.

OLED technology offers amazing contrast and rich colors, but it requires special care to avoid problems such as burn-in or loss of brightness over time.

Regular pixel cleaning

One of the most important steps in maintaining an OLED screen is to periodically run the Pixel Cleaning feature.

This built-in feature performs a cycle that rearranges the pixels and reduces the chances of them retaining static images for long periods.

The system often runs this feature during standby mode or the user can manually activate it via the screen care settings.

Disable power saving

Power saving settings may seem attractive to reduce electricity consumption, but disabling them in OLED screens can help achieve the maximum possible brightness of the screen.

Most modern screens are capable of reaching very high brightness levels, which enhances the quality of images and colors during movie watching or gameplay.

Control static elements

If you are using an OLED screen with a computer, it is best to activate the Auto-hide taskbar feature to prevent static elements from appearing for long periods.

The presence of static elements such as the taskbar or icons on the screen in one place for a long period can cause burn-in issues in certain areas.

Enhance the visual settings

Although the risk of burn-in has decreased in modern OLED screens, users can benefit from increasing contrast and brightness to enhance the visual experience, especially when watching HDR content or playing dynamic games.

However, it is still best to avoid keeping static images at maximum brightness for long periods.

Screen cleaning

Caring for the cleanliness of the screen is no less important than the technical settings. Therefore, it is advised to clean the OLED screen twice a month using a soft cloth and a small amount of special screen cleaning solution.

Ultraviolet rays

Avoid direct exposure to sunlight and high temperatures, as ultraviolet rays can degrade the quality of the screen over time.
