Khaberni - Water and Irrigation Minister, Raed Abu Al-Saud, accompanied by the Secretary-General of the Jordan Valley Authority, Hisham Al-Haysa, inspected the Mujib Dam, which reached its full storage capacity of 25 million cubic meters.
Abu Al-Saud reviewed the procedures followed to deal with the dam's filling, emphasizing the importance of implementing all safety measures and coordinating with relevant entities.
He expected that the rainy season would increase the storage capacity of the main dams in most regions of the kingdom.
The Ministry of Water and Irrigation stated that six dams have been filled to their full storage capacities during the recent weather depression, with Wadi Bin Hammad Dam filling on Monday night, expressing that the current season is good and promising, and it is expected to have a positive impact on the water and agricultural situation.
It clarified that the dams that were filled completely are Shuaib Dam in Balqa Governorate, Mujib Dam, Lajoun Dam, Wadi Al-Karak Dam, and Wadi Bin Hammad Dam in Al-Karak Governorate, in addition to Sheizum Dam in Tafileh Governorate. The storage capacity of Wadi Bin Hammad Dam is 4 million cubic meters, Mujib Dam 25 million cubic meters, Lajoun Dam 1 million cubic meters, Wadi Al-Karak Dam 2 million cubic meters, and Sheizum Dam 750 thousand cubic meters."
