SecretaryGeneral of the Arab League Expresses Concern Over Developments in Yemen

Khaberni - Ambassador Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League expressed deep concern about the dangerous ongoing developments in the Republic of Yemen.

Aboul Gheit also expressed hope for an immediate de-escalation in the provinces of Hadramawt and Al Mahrah in eastern Yemen.

The Secretary-General appealed to all member states of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy to preserve the spirit of Arab solidarity in this critical situation, to prioritize restraint, and to adhere to a unified Arab stance that supports the legitimacy of Yemen, in accordance with the successive resolutions of the Arab League Council concerning this crisis.

Aboul Gheit renewed his condemnation of any military movements aimed at establishing a separatist reality on the ground by force, which threatens the unity of Yemeni territory and severely harms the cause of Southern Yemen, which should be addressed through dialogue and not by imposing facts on the ground. He emphasized that separatist tendencies harm Arab national security.
