Fields of Civilizational Interaction Environmental Field
الكاتب: ا.د فكري الدويري

Environmental pollution, with its various forms, is a problem that threatens the entire world. It knows no boundaries or barriers and threatens humans and their domicile, the Earth. It does not discriminate between one human and another, and its dangers extend to affect future generations.

This issue is centered on the human challenge, regardless of beliefs and affiliations, with rising global issues and complications that require international and collective responses, not individual ones, within each country. At the forefront of these issues are the environment and the ongoing environmental pollution and degradation, highlighting a set of contemporary environmental problems that threaten human existence on Earth.

Therefore, humanity is in dire need of dialogue in the field of international cooperation to address this problem and its intertwined dangers that transcend national governments and geographic boundaries, to preserve the laws of this universe, the laws of nature, and to prevent the damage inflicted on humans.

The environmental problem stems from humans deviating from the right path in their relationship with the environment and their poor handling of it, either through direct destruction or by failing to take action against perpetrators and meddlers. Thus, it is their own responsibility to restore balance and rescue the environment from the degradation and destruction it has suffered.

Due to the pressures imposed by this problem on the world, conferences and seminars have been held to confront it, yet the problem persists due to the absence of an educational and ethical sense in the philosophy of facing and treating these environmental challenges and dangers. It is understood from the saying of Allah: [ Corruption has appeared on land and sea because of what the hands of people have earned, so He may let them taste some of what they have done, in order that they might return ] that the divine guidance on human interaction with the environment should aim at the following:

First: Preserving the environment and preventing harm to its elements, which falls under the principle of preventing evils.

Second: Restoring environmental balance through finding solutions to current environmental problems and preventing new environmental issues, ensuring the achievement of sustainable and environmentally sound development. This falls under the principle of promoting benefits.

Civilizational interaction in the field of preserving the environment and addressing its issues is a pressing necessity that calls for everyone to assume responsibility for preserving their environment, and to be keen on global initiatives based on partnership in facing environmental challenges and mitigating its degradation and damages.
