AlJaghbeer Developing the vocational and technical education system in the Kingdom provides qualified labor for the industry

Khaberni - The head of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, Engineer Fathi, emphasized the importance of enhancing the true partnership between the education sector and the industrial sector, due to its pivotal role in aligning educational outputs with the needs of factories, enhancing the competitiveness of the national industry, and contributing to empowering Jordanian youth and qualifying them for the labor market.

Al-Jaghbeer, during a meeting with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education for Vocational and Technical Education Affairs, Dr. Mohammad Ghaith, at the chamber's building, attended by the chamber board member Dr. Eyad Abu Haltam and the General Manager Dr. Nael Al-Hassami, mentioned that involving factories in training vocational and technical education students BTEC enhances the quality of educational outputs, contributes to providing future employment opportunities for graduates, and bridges the gap between educational outputs and market requirements, in line with the rapid technological and industrial transformations, especially since the industrial sector, which employs more than 260,000 workers, is most capable of creating new job opportunities for Jordanians.

Al-Jaghbeer explained that the development of the vocational and technical education system in the Kingdom is a national strategic direction and one of the demands of the industrial sector, aiming to contribute to achieving the goals of the Economic Modernization Vision, and to meet the needs of economic sectors for qualified and trained labor.

On his part, Dr. Mohammad Ghaith clarified the ministry's commitment to cooperating with Jordanian private sector institutions, notably the Chambers of Industry, to provide practical vocational training opportunities for vocational and technical education students - BTEC pathway at industrial companies operating in various industrial areas within the geographical scope of the directorates of education, especially in engineering, information technology, and business management specializations, which ensures linking vocational education with actual market requirements and equipping students with the practical and technical skills needed by the industrial sector.

Adding that the ministry aims, by the year 2032, to provide about 100,000 job opportunities through vocational and technical education and increase the rate of student enrollment in the BTEC pathway to about 50%, in addition to expanding the number of schools and specializations and diversifying them in line with the needs of the local and regional labor market.

He pointed out that the vocational and technical education pathway is based on two integrated parts in schools and universities, aiming to enhance the quality of education and link it to practical application, reaffirming the ministry's commitment to enhancing cooperation with the private sector and training institutions, and expanding effective partnerships that allow students to learn through work-based and direct interaction with the production environment.

At the end of the meeting, the Amman Chamber of Industry expressed its welcome to launching this partnership, where it was agreed to organize an introductory session for industrialists in cooperation with the Ministry of Education to explain the mechanisms for implementing training at factories, the rights and duties of all parties, and the general safety requirements for students, as a prelude to actually providing practical training opportunities at factories.
