Doctors Settle the Truth About the Most Dangerous Myth About Sleeping Next to the Phone

Khaberni - Specialized doctors responded to one of the most widespread myths about sleeping next to a mobile phone, confirming that the cancer-related fears are not based on proven scientific evidence, contrasted with real effects related to sleep quality and daily health.

According to "indiatv" newspaper, the use of the phone before sleeping has sparked widespread controversy in recent years, with growing concerns about the radiation it emits. However, oncologists have clarified that the available scientific studies to date have not proven a direct relationship between the radio frequency waves emitted from mobile phones and brain tumors or cancer, even when the phone is placed near the head during sleep.

Doctors noted that the actual risk is not related to radiation, but to the phone's effect on the brain during night rest periods.

The phone alerts, through blue light, notifications, and repeated vibrations, indirectly stimulate the nervous system, even if there is no conscious response to it, which hinders the brain from entering deep sleep stages.

Specialists pointed out that repeated sleep disturbances negatively reflect on general health, as they are associated with increased feelings of fatigue, concentration difficulties, headaches, mood swings, and a long-term decline in immune system efficiency.

Doctors also confirm that irregular sleep not only affects daily activity but also extends its impact to hormonal balance and mental health.

Experts warned that the belief that turning off the phone's screen is sufficient to prevent its impact is inaccurate, as the brain continues to pick up faint audio and visual signals, which limits the achievement of restful and stable sleep.

Doctors recommended following simple habits to improve sleep quality, including keeping the phone away from the bed, activating silent or do not disturb modes at night, and avoiding the use of screens sufficiently before bedtime, with the use of blue light filters when necessary.

Specialists also emphasized that protecting sleep is no longer a luxury, but a health necessity that can be achieved with simple behavioral adjustments without completely giving up the phone.
