The story of the Japanese phone enthusiast owns 1800 phones and travels specifically to buy a new phone

Khaberni - How many phones do you keep in your house? Two? Five? Maybe ten?.. But what if the number was 1800 phones?

This is exactly what Japanese journalist Yasuhiro Yamani possesses, who decided to travel to South Korea for one reason only: to acquire the new Galaxy Z TriFold from "Samsung".

Researcher in mobile phones
"Samsung" revealed, through its official blog, the story of Yasuhiro Yamani, a freelance journalist based in Hong Kong, who has been writing about phones and mobile technologies for over 20 years.

He describes himself as a researcher in phones, a description that seems logical considering his massive collection that includes more than 1800 devices.

Among the most distinctive phones in his collection is the Serenata device released in 2007, which was developed in collaboration with Bang & Olufsen and primarily focused on the music experience.

Why Galaxy Z TriFold?
When the Galaxy Z TriFold was announced, the phone immediately caught Yamani's attention, especially thanks to its tri-fold design and improved user interface.

He believes that "Samsung" excels in the category of foldable phones not only in terms of the screen but also in the capabilities of screen splitting and multitasking.

When using the phone for the first time, he described it as a completely new type of device that combines a smartphone and a tablet.

Despite its large 10-inch screen being almost the size of three traditional phones, he considered it lightweight, slim, and easy to carry.

Nevertheless, the Galaxy Z TriFold is not the first tri-fold phone in the market, as "Huawei" preceded it with the launch of Mate XT Ultimate Design and Mate XTs, which have their pros and cons, while the "Samsung" phone, according to some evaluations, still needs further improvements.

Productivity and entertainment in one device
Yamani believes that the real strength of the Galaxy Z TriFold lies in productivity, where the wide screen allows running multiple applications at the same time.

It can be used vertically to watch videos at the top, with messaging or browsing social media at the bottom, even while on the move.

And with a Bluetooth keyboard or using Samsung DeX, the phone can replace a tablet and even a laptop, especially for creators and business people.

It also offers a distinctive entertainment experience when fully opened and transformed into a large display screen.

After returning to Japan, Yamani shared the phone with about 100 people from his acquaintances to showcase the experience.

Clear software superiority
The most prominent feature of the "Samsung" phone compared to its competitor from "Huawei" is the full support for "Google" apps and services, alongside the feature-rich One UI interface, and "Samsung's" commitment to software updates extending up to 7 years.

In contrast, the experience indicates that the "Huawei" Mate XT has not received updates for a full year, highlighting the difference in software strategy between the two companies.

In the end, the Galaxy Z TriFold might just be another new phone on the market, but for a man who owns 1800 phones, it was reason enough to travel across continents.
