Khaberni - The famous Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, witnessed a tragic moment when a plane pulling an advertising banner fell into the sea in front of thousands of beachgoers, leading to the immediate death of the pilot.
Reports confirmed that the pilot, who was flying alone, was Luiz Ricardo Light de Amorim from the city of Goiânia. It was his first day at work, and he had just celebrated his 40th birthday a few days earlier, on December 23rd.
Risk management experts indicated that the plane likely faced a technical malfunction, possibly a failure in the engine or control system, which made it unable to stay airborne.
Aviation expert Gerardo Portla told local media, "When the problem occurred, the pilot should have immediately released the advertising banner, as it increases air resistance and decreases his chances of a safe emergency landing on the water."
Firefighters reached the accident site using jet skis, boats, and divers, as well as aerial support, but retrieving the body took more than two hours.
The authorities indicated that the plane was affiliated with the company Visual Propaganda Aérea, which was not officially authorized to launch the advertising campaign, confirming that they will impose a fine on the company for "unauthorized advertising".
The company stated in a declaration: "The plane involved in the incident was in compliance with all maintenance requirements and certifications, and we are fully cooperating with the investigations."
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, while a specialized company is recovering the wreckage of the airplane.
