He added that the crew of the two ships had disabled their tracking systems and unloaded a large quantity of weapons and combat vehicles to support the forces of the Southern Transitional Council in the eastern provinces of Yemen "Hadramout and Al Mahrah" with the aim of inflaming the conflict, which constitutes a clear violation of imposing calm and reaching a peaceful solution, as well as violating UN Security Council Resolution 2216 of the year 2015, according to the Saudi Press Agency "SPA".

Major General Al-Maliki also explained that based on a request from the president of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council for the coalition forces to take all necessary military measures to protect civilians in "Hadramout and Al Mahrah", and due to the dangerous escalation these weapons pose which threatens security and stability, coalition air forces conducted a limited military operation this morning targeting weapons and combat vehicles unloaded from the two ships at Al Mukalla port, after documenting this and then executing the military operation in accordance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules and ensuring there is no collateral damage.

Major General Al-Maliki confirmed the coalition's leadership continues to de-escalate and enforce calm in "Hadramout and Al Mahrah" and prevent any military support from any country to any Yemeni component without coordination with the legitimate Yemeni government and the coalition, aiming to succeed the efforts of the Kingdom and the coalition to achieve security and stability and prevent the expansion of the conflict.

Furthermore, the coalition announced the completion of the limited military operation at Al Mukalla port and its return to normal conditions, confirming no human injuries or collateral damage occurred, nor any to infrastructure or facilities.

The Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen had requested, on Tuesday, that civilians, military personnel, and fishermen vacate Al Mukalla port in Hadramout until further notice.

He added that the evacuation request was due to the execution of a military operation.

He further noted that this step aims to protect civilians, according to the Saudi Press Agency "SPA".

In line with this, military expert Faisal Al-Hamad informed that the coalition's statement confirms that it is still active in Yemen, based on previous statements in response to the request of the president of the Leadership Council to take measures to protect civilians.
