Khaberni - The work crews of Balqa Governorate Directorate of Public Works, this Monday evening, reopened the Wadi Shuaib-Al Salt road to traffic after it was closed due to landslides and rock falls caused by rising levels of water flowing from the valleys and mountains adjacent to the road.
The Director of Public Works, Engineer Thamer Al-Hawamdeh, stated that the directorate handled partial closures on the Wadi Shuaib road as quickly as possible, where the equipment managed to open the road, and a full road cleaning will be carried out tomorrow.
Al-Hawamdeh explained that next year, a study will be conducted to find a radical solution to the problem of erosions occurring on the Wadi Shuaib road.
He mentioned that today, the directorate dealt with several closures that occurred on the roads of Ir'a - Al-Karamah and Sīqī - Mahis and Wadi Hadi road due to landslides, indicating that the Directorate of Public Works had prepared a contingency plan to deal with any obstacles that may occur on these roads, in cooperation with the Traffic Department and the Civil Defense Directorate.
