Khaberni - The Public Security Directorate confirmed that civil defense teams dealt with a number of cases of vehicles and individuals being trapped in various areas of the kingdom, due to the flow of torrents and rising water levels from the rains, in addition to dealing with many reports of water being suctioned from inside homes and public roads.
The directorate clarified that its specialized staff conducted rescue operations for those trapped, whether in their vehicles or while walking on the roads, and secured them to safe places without recording any notable injuries, thank God. The teams also dealt with cases of accumulating rainwater using dedicated suction pumps, inside homes and basements, as well as in public streets that experienced obstructions to traffic flow due to the mixing of water with stones and dirt, forming mud.
The Public Security Directorate indicated that the field crews were at the highest levels of readiness and preparedness since the start of the low-pressure weather, and exerted great and continuous efforts, responding to all alerts received through the operations and control room (911) and around the clock, with full professionalism and responsibility.
The directorate renewed its emphasis on the need for safe use of different types of heating appliances, the necessity to provide appropriate ventilation inside homes occasionally, and avoiding leaving heaters lit while sleeping, to prevent incidents of suffocation or fires.
The Public Security Directorate concluded by emphasizing the importance of calling the unified emergency number (911) throughout the kingdom whenever there is a need for assistance or to report any emergency.
