Khaberni - In a demonstration of Amman Arab University's commitment to enhancing its active partnership with the local community, and linking scientific research outputs to practical applications, a delegation from the Business School at the University visited the Traffic Management headquarters in the capital Amman, aiming to discuss possibilities for joint cooperation. The delegation included a group of faculty members from the Management Information Systems department, including: Professor Dr. Hussein Awad, Vice Dean of the Business School, Dr. Khaled Abu Al-Naam, Head of Departments of Digital Marketing and Management Information Systems, Dr. Amna Khaddam, Dr. Alaa Al-Momani, and Dr. Omar Hijazin, with the presence of Col. Raed Al-Assaf, Director of Traffic Management, and Col. Raed Al-Faouri, Assistant Director of Traffic Management.
For his part, Brigadier General Al-Assaf welcomed the delegation from Amman Arab University, emphasizing the importance of this joint cooperation and its role in serving the public good. Subsequently, detailed discussions were launched about the potential research cooperation between the university and the administration. During the meeting, the academics shared their vision on utilizing artificial intelligence technologies in improving traffic services, starting from analyzing traffic patterns to predicting congestion levels and enhancing the flow of vehicle traffic. They also showed substantial interest in the virtual reality applications used by the administration in traffic awareness programs and training new drivers, highlighting their effective impact in enhancing traffic safety and raising community awareness. They proposed an idea to organize a joint awareness day in traffic management, involving both the university's academic expertise and the Traffic Management's practical experience, to serve as a living model of partnership between educational institutions and government entities in serving the community.
Colonel Al-Faouri, in detail, presented the comprehensive information and reports that Traffic Management can provide to researchers, including accurate statistical data about traffic accidents, in addition to information related to road usage patterns and vehicle distribution. He also discussed the possibility of utilizing this data and transforming it into solid scientific studies and research that would contribute to enhancing traffic safety and improving the quality and efficiency of services provided to citizens.
This meeting was coordinated by Major Ahmad Zriqat, one of the students in the Master's program in Business Information Technology at the university, where his practical experience in Traffic Management, alongside his academic studies, made him recognize the importance of seizing this unique opportunity to build a bridging link between scientific research and modern traffic applications. Major Zriqat warmly received the Amman Arab University delegation, accompanying them on a distinctive field tour inside the Traffic Management facilities. They were introduced to the latest advanced technologies adopted in regulating and managing traffic in the capital Amman, showcasing the global quality certifications obtained by the administration, which embody its commitment to institutional excellence and continuous development.
This visit comes as part of Amman Arab University's commitment to its leading role in enhancing community partnerships and linking scientific research outputs with practical application.
